This weeks Bike Of The Week is a JAP (J.A Prestwich). Famous as a manufacturer of proprietary engines of 123cc to 1098cc, JAP also built complete motorcycles until 1908. when JA Prestwich of Tottenham, England, decided to concentrate on building power units only. During WWII, Prestwich produced around 240,000 aircraft engines for the military. After 1945, the engine factory was taken over by Villiers. This bike is modified for ice racing, utilizing sharpened stud bolts for better traction and speed.
